Often times, the education information on an application is not true in its entirety. By verifying the accuracy of this information provided, you are also verifying trustworthiness and honesty of the applicant. If the information is complete, it can give you more confidence in the ability of your applicant.  

If other names such as a maiden name have been used, you should consider running education verification on that name as well.
