Will the person I search on know that I ran a Background Check on them? Yes. You must have their signed authorization on our Release Form or Application for Employment prior to running a search.

What is a Background Check? It is a search and report of any or all of the following information based on the product you purchase. A Basic Background Check includes a verification of the SSN, Name, and Alias names, addresses, and possible phone number. It includes a nationwide criminal search and a nationwide violent and sex offender search. It includes a global search of various nationwide watch lists.

What is your turnaround time? In most cases, it will be 1-4 business days depending on what product you purchase. The employment and education verification searches take longer and may take up to 5 business days.

Who has access to these records? Companies like CheckYourSitter.com who provides nationwide background screening and members of background screening organizations such as N.A.P.B.S. (National Association of Professional Background Screeners).

Will you definitely find information about the person I am checking? Yes, for ID verification. Because we will verify the SSN, we will always be able to provide verification of the name, Alias names, addresses, and possible phone numbers. The criminal, wants and warrants, bankruptcies, judgments, liens and workers comp all search for negative information. If no negative information is found, you will be advised of such. The education, employment, and professional verification search results may vary depending on if they can be contacted.

Why don’t you offer credit checks? The reporting and analyzing of credit needs to be done by an expert who can understand and explain the full picture of the financial background. This is not our area of expertise so we recommend that you do a credit check if needed, with a professional agency rather than try to analyze it on your own.

What should I do first? Let your applicant know that you need their permission to run the background check. Have them sign the Release form or complete the Application for Employment, which includes the release, click here. After that, you will need to open an account with us, click here.

What if the person has used more than one last name? You will need to run a search for each name they have used to be sure to cover any possible reports in each name.

How long does it take to get searches done? We are open Monday – Friday and closed weekends. Most searches will be completed within 1-2 business days. However, the verification searches may take up to 5 days. Please see the turnaround time for each product, click here.

Do I need to have permission to do a background check? Yes. You must have permission from the applicant to do a background search before the search is done. You will need to use the Release form or Application for Employment that includes the release and fax that to our office at 607 936 2300, click here.
